
Nivolumab is a cancer medication that is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat:
Classical hodgkin lymphoma;
Kidney cancer;
Non-small cell lung cancer;
Squamous cell cancer of the head and neck;
Advanced skin cancer (Melanoma);
Liver cancer;
Bladder cancer; or
A type of colorectal cancer that laboratory testing proves to have certain specific DNA mutations.
Nivolumab is basically given when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, cannot be surgically removed or has come back after prior treatment.
Some of the most common side effects are; cough, constipation, chills, chest tightness, blistering and peeling of the skin, back pain, headache, hair loss, fever, diarrhea, depressed mood, itching, loss of appetite, nausea, red/irritated eyes, sore throat, vomiting and weight gain etc.
