Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid (cortisone-like medicine or steroid). It works on the immune system to help relieve redness, itching, inflammation (swelling), and allergic reactions. Also ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, lung disorders or multiple sclerosis.

Some common side effects include blurred vision, muscle weakness, headache, joint pain mood changes and dizziness.
